To be honest, it’s incredibly frustrating. 

He hasn't been back to his home country in nearly a decade, and he’s lived in Japan for over 40 years—more than half his life. Yet, I still have to sit there and listen to him talk about how "backward" Japan is compared to the West.

正直、私は悔しい。

10年近く母国に帰った事が無いし、40年以上日本に住んで、人生の半分以上を西洋じゃない日本で暮らしているのに、未だに西洋の話をして日本は遅れているという話を聞かされなきゃならない事。
