いろはにほへと

Somehow, I remember a high school teacher called Mrs. Suto.

When I was a high school student (Oh, I'm talking about 6 or 7 years ago), I took calligraphy class and learned it there for 2 years, because hmmm.... I don't remember the reason why I chose it. I had already learned Calligraphy for 4 or 5 years. I used to learn it when I was a child.

For me, writting Hirakana was very difficult and I prefered writting Kanji than Hirakana at that time. Hirakana has simple shape, therefore it's very fine, I think.

I thought my classmates could write better than I, so I was happy that the teacher, Mrs. Suto suggested me to write a Tanka (poem) is from Manyoshu in Hirakana.

When I asked her comment about my works, she told me that it was very mild as I was.

I don't know why I remember her, but I have people I want to see again and have the past I want to go back.

Thank you for posting the link
to the Wikipedia page!
From there I found links to
scans of the text of the
Manyoshu. So interesting!
